THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
The term Evangelism is derived from the Greek word “euangelion,” which means “good news” or “gospel”.
Evangelism is the practice of sharing the glad tidings of Salvation. Romans 10:14,15 “….. And how shall they hear without a preacher? “And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ” How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things.”
Ephesians 6:13-15. Our main emphasis is on verse 15. “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” John 3:3-6,16 The gospel is a message of hope, comfort and tenderness – that a person’s sins (wrong -doing) could be forgiven/pardoned by the Lord God Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth. Through the atonement of the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ and His saving grace.
IT IS A LOUD AND RESOUNDING ALARM: To warn the whole human race about the impending terrible storm of fire and brimstone – the soon coming Divine judgement. 2 Corinthians 5:10, 2 Thessalonians 5:1-3.
The gospel is a global trumpet call to people to repent of their iniquities/wickedness and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38-40, Acts 26:20, Acts 10:43.
It is mandatory for us to tell the world that: our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the One all the prophets testified about; saying that, everyone who believes in Him; will have their sins forgiven through His name. ” There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.
” For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13,15.
METHODS
Evangelism has various methods and approaches to reach both non-believers and believers.
These approaches includes: Preaching, Teaching, Literature distribution, i.e Bibles, Tracts, Bible study books and magazines.
MISSIONS : Urban, Rural and International.
MEDIA : Main-stream : Radio, Television, Newspapers etc.
Social -media : WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other Websites.
SOUL – WINNING
Soul-winning is a very (specific) form of evangelism.
FOCUS: the main focus of soul-winning is personal, one – on – one interactions, thereby encouraging godly relationships which cuts across Economic/Social Status, Tribes, Races, Nations and the various Languages and Locations, no matter how remote and harsh the place could be!
THE GOAL: the goal of soul-winning is to enlighten and lead various people (without discrimination or religious bias) to a personal devotion to Jesus Christ and His amazing grace.
Please note that: both Evangelism and Soul – Winning are very important in spreading the Gospel message, but Soul – Winning focuses on individual conversions, commitment, birthing and nurturing fresh, authentic and fruitful personal relationships with Jesus Christ our Redeemer.
Soul – Winning is our partnership with the Holy Spirit to lovingly/zealously engage and bring into the kingdom of God, stable and responsible men/women and families who would in turn be on fire for the Lord, whom the Lord will also receive and send into His harvest to do great exploits as part of the global end-time army, to the glory of His holy name.
